ZL1 fuel pump

Need some help. I have a 2013 SS and randomly the fuel gauge goes to empty while driving. I’m assuming it’s a sending unit issue. My real question though is if I have to dig into the fuel take and replace that I may as well replace the stock pump with a ZL1 pump. Do I need to retune the car with the new fuel pump or will it compensate correctly without any adjustment?
