Here is a link the the thread covering the complete restoration of the 4.3 mile 85 IROC. The car was removed from the trailer in 2008. If you read the entire thread, i think it said the original owner sold the wheels right away because they were not "part of the plan". Obviously no part of "the plan" ever happened to this car. It will also explain why the front ground effect was not on the car.

The thread has many posts, updates, and photos from the guy personally in charge of the IROC throughout its restoration as well as posts from the guy in the video who bought it from the trailer.

Sorry if anybody here was part of their build or design, but as a user of the product...they stunk. And to be honest, the '60s and '70s products were barely more acceptable, but nostalgia forgives a lot and at least the cars (if you bought the right ones) went sideways when you goosed the loud pedal.
They were as good as anybody else was building back then. Just how they did things back in the day.

The 190 HP L69s had 5.0 H.O. emblems on the rear bumper, so this car has the 165 HP Carbureted LG4.

I bought one new with the 215 HP LB9 and it ran low 15s at the strip and I thought it was pretty hot. 18 months later I traded it for a burgundy '87 with the 220 HP B2L 350 Auto(all 350's were autos). It ran 14.50s and I thought it was really hot. It's still parked in my garage with 34k on it.
Great info right here.

My first car was an '85 IROC-Z with the L69 option. This was back in 1985 too. .

Huge difference between the LG4 and L69 motors. Before they popped the hood in the video, I could tell by the tachometer, lower redline, this was not the H.O. motor. Damn I loved that car.
