I don't know but maybe this is what Ford uses.

A lot of 5th gens were produced, meaning there will be a lot of them on the market. My bet is the SS's will hold value pretty well overall because of the retro design and the LS3 and L99

Look at tri 5 chev millions made nice ones go for big bucks as the car is desired by young and old, also possible for high option 5th gen. But drive and enjoy and let your grand kids restore and sell. Long after your gone.

No one thought any of the gas guzzling muscle cars from the 60 and 1970 would be worth anything either. They were all over the place and in the 70s were a dime a dozen.

do you have any idea how much it costs to properly restore a vehicle? chances are good you'll spend more on it than you'll be able to sell it for.

Everyone always thinks that a car has to be rare to be valuable. I have been in the collector car hobby for many years, and I can tell you this couldn't be further from the truth. A car is rare for one of three reasons.

1. It was very expensive, and not many people could afford one.

2. Production was purposely limited, as with a special model, or due to other factors.

3. No one wanted one, so not many sold.

While everyone thinks a rare car is due to number 1 or 2, the vast majority of rare cars are number three. And if no one wanted it when it was new, chances are no one wants it now either. So most rare cars aren't worth much. Popular cars are usually the ones that are more collectible. 1st gen Mustangs, '57 Chevys, Ford Model T's, are all very high production cars, and are 3 of the most collected cars in the hobby.

My personal favorite is the muscle cars being auctioned off as "only 1 of 3 built". Sure in metallic pea with engine X, transmission Y, a/c delete, and automatic tissue dispenser. But there were a total of 200,000 built for the year.

I have an antique Lincoln. Unlike today's cars, it came in 26 colors, 20 interior colors, 20 vinyl top colors, and had about 30 options. So if you bought one in an unpopular color combination with unpopular options, it certainly isn't hard to get one that is 1 of 3 or even the only one. That has nothing to do with how many were made total. Get it in a different color, and there are a ton of them.

There are certainly rare options that can make a car more valuable, but just because a car is being touted as 1 of 3 built, doesn't automatically make it more valuable.

I'm sure it will hold some of its value, its still a badass car that everyone wants.

Ohh man I love these guys, I see them at shows "1 of only 3 with the console courtesy light", so therefore the car is historically significant and worth 2x what a non courtesy light car is. Needless to say you usually either see the guy give up on selling it, or the price drop astronomically within a year.

I could have bought a 63 Stingray split window coupe in 1969 for $1500... Also at the same time 55-57 Chevys were everywhere in the $500 range...
