1992 z28 rare or not?

I have a 1992 z28 camaro. 305 H.O. OHV. 5 speed t5 borg warner transmission as well as rear drum breaks and front disc breaks. Ive been doing research and from what ive seen its kind of hard to believe. Can someone please help me out?

Whats rare about it? Its appears to be a stripper Z28. Just because there wasnt a lot of them made doesnt make it worth more. With the 3rd gens, the only ones that are slightly valuable are the near mint condition ones that are optioned a certian way. 1LE, B4C, L98 (350tpi), pre 1991 IROCs.

Quote:
Chevrolet built 705 Camaro's with "1LE" special performance components equipment for 1992. Of the 705 units, 589 of these were the "B4C" Special Service (or Police package) cars which all included the 1LE front brakes. Content was different in the B4C as air conditioning was standard and the aluminum driveshaft, spare tire and other heavy duty suspension components were not included. In reality there were only 116 1LE "race prep" cars produced. As in 1989, 1990, and 1991, Ordering the RPO G80 Limited-slip rear axle & G92 RPO 1LE was triggered by RPO G92. RPO G92 required either the 305ci LB9 V8 with 5-speed manual, or the 350ci B2L V8 with 4-speed automatic transmission. When ordered with air conditioning ($466), RPO G92 included engine oil cooler, 4-wheel disc brakes, and dual-converter exhaust. Without air condition ing ($675), RPO G92 added heavy-duty front brakes, aluminum driveshaft and spare wheel, special shocks and fuel pickup, and gas tank baffle. Fog lamps were deleted for weight savings and better air flow to the radiator. Available for Z28 Coupes only.

1992 should be recognized as the peak of 3rd generation performance with the two models, the B4C Special Service package and the 1LE Race Prep package being the most covetted for collectors as both were produced in relatively low numbers and each had different content. The 1LE was the best handling and lightest package available, although the B4C had most of it's content and was the only way to get the big heavy duty racing brakes along with air conditioning and power windows/locks and mirrors if you wanted them.
A 305 5-speed without the 4 wheel disc brake option says its not a 1LE and isnt overly desireable, sorry. its a cool car none the less but you dont have a rare gem, sorry.

Well, that year they made 5197 coupe Z28's and 3038 of them had the HO engine. 3645 of all Camaro's made that year were made with front and rear disc brakes. A total of 70007 Camaro's were produced that year.

the only difference between the 350 and 305 in this year is the cylinder size. This z28 is board .30 over with a posi-trac rear end. has ls1 performance chip as well as ls1 PCM. I was asking because all i see is RS 3rd gens were im from and hardly any z28s that arent iroc-zs; and i blow them off the road without a problem.

List your option codes and I can tell you exactly how that car rolled off the assembly line.

You have a low optioned Z28.

Its not a 1LE or B4C bc it has drum brakes.

Is that what youre looking for?

OP... just go to thirdgen.org and do the RPO decoder. It works great.

So the drum break option is not introduced in the high end performance version of this z28? it has a few problems that dont match up with research ive done ex. ac, power windows, power locks. Ive plugged the vin into a decoder and it reads disc breaks on all 4 tires. not sure if it was a website fault or not. i will plug the vin # in. as said ive put ls1 tpi parts on it recently.P23F8NL

Did you got to thirdgen.org?

Can you post a pic of your SPID?

Like this:

I have the decoder, I can run it for you if you post this. I do no need your VIN.

This is mine. The 4 wheel disc brake RPO is J65 on mine.

Look on your options tag. If option code J65 is on there, your car came from the factory with power disc brakes all around. If you have drums on the rear now then someone obviously changed the brakes out.

If you want, PM me or post all the codes or a legible pic of the SPID, I will run the decoder and give you what every single code means. It works great.

I will tell you what all the numbers on the VIN mean too if you want to give me the full VIN.
