with the cam we threw in, we are hoping for 400 at the crank. we are using a 700R4/4L60. we will dyno it with the stock rear, but the plans are already in work for a Strange S60 rear end to get installed in the fall.

We are thinking of doing an LS1 Swap in our 69 Camaro, and while it is just something being considered for in the future, I haven't done a whole lot of research yet to see how much cheaper/easier it would be to do a carb conversion with an LS1 Vs getting all the wirring/computer stuff needed when swapping everything into a 1st gen...any insight on this? (obviously not directly related to th 1st gen, just the swap in general) Thanks

we still have the stock intake, t/b, maf, and a bunch of other parts. but at the time, a wiring harness, fuel rails, injectors, fuel pump and pcm would have ran us another $1000.00 or more plus splicing into the stock harness to make everything run properly. there are 2 versions (IIRC) of the intake/ignition kit. one is the one we have that uses "pills" for different cam setups to map the timing. the other one has a hookup to actually be able to tune the timing via a computer/tuning software. the one thing with a carb (well, 2 things really), is that you will always run richer than an EFI setup, so mileage should not be of importance to you, and one cool/nice thing with running carb'd is that you get that choppier idle due to the extra richness and the lack of complete air/fuel mixture. right now things are still kinda jerry-rigged as far as the wiring and routing of components, but it will get cleaned up later. we dont car what it looks like as long as its fast. oh.... and some more pics. slight front damage to the front clip (which will be replaced).... no power to the brakes and she didnt stop in time and bumped into the back of the truck.

Just because it looks cool doesn't mean it's a good thing buddy, lol. You know, valve overlap sounds cool too...
