Version 4 Iphone Update - Malfunctions in car

I updated my iPhone yesterday with the latest Version 4 software, now, when connected in the car - it plays music for about 90 seconds, then stops giving me a message that there is no supporting data.

Anyone else have this probelm?

Worked perfect before. BTW - the new upgrade is awesome (other than the fact it will not play in the car now.)

Yeah, in the audio/video section there's a bunch of people complaining about their iPhone's not working with their car anymore after the update. And I hate to say it, but I think you're SOL until Apple releases some kind of update to fix the issue, cause I doubt Chevrolet will have any kind of update for the PDIM or Bluetooth modules anytime soon...

Yea, and another route you can take if you don't want to do the upgrade but still want all the awesome benifits of the "new" iphone -----> Jailbreak

It's easy, download a program, point and click, bam instant customimization, tweak it, anything you want, you can even use tethering (and on an unlimited data plan it's pretty awesome).

Not saying you have to go off the grid and use T-Mobile with it, I have ATT and jailbroken. Best descision ever, after getting Eleanor of course.

Bluetooth seems to work just fine, if you need a temporary solution. It's a pain if you don't have at least have a mount which you can easily get at the buttons with (I recommend ProClips' model), but it's better than nothing or fumbling with it as you drive.

Yea same here it doesn't work on my 3GS, I got the iPhone 4 yesterday and it works for about two songs then goes to static, so I'm still just using my old iPod. The only thing I miss is not being able to charge my iPhone in the car because my iPod is plugged in.

Hopefully this is a problem in more vehicles than just the Camaro so that Apple will realize that there is a problem and come up with a solution for it. If it's only the Camaro or only GM vehicles then Apple may not get enough complaints to fix it.

I haven't tried running my songs in the car yet. I stream slacker radio and a philly radio stations app. I will give it a shot later today.

I will have to check this out in my car also. I just updated my 3G to iOS4 and plan on getting new iPhone 4 in a few weeks. I will be bummed if it doesn't work anymore.

There's an easy solution that doesn't involve voiding your warranty or the terms of service agreement and risking getting your contract cancelled and paying the penalty that will give you all the features of the iPhone, plus a lot of features you were forbidden to have before. It's called "Android". Beats the pants off "Jailbait" ...er... I mean "Jailbreak".

I posted this up three days ago...I am in contact with one of the USB/Bluetooth interface designers and he is looking into it. Hoping they come up with a fix soon.
