I still have my 3G and 3GS and right now the 3GS is the only one that seems to work now after all the updates. But my 3GS is running ios 4.1 beta x so it seems it's fixed on apple's side. The list items still get screwed up every now and then, but nowhere as much as before.
My iPhone 4 and iPad don't work at all with the USB interface, have to use bluetooth or nothing. So hopefully when the final version of 4.1 comes out in a few days everything will be fixed for all versions of the iPhone.
That 4.1 beta info is good to hear, I am eagerly waiting for it to hit. Only a couple more days.

iOS4 4.1 update

iOS4 4.1 update (which will be released this Wednesday) should hopefully resolve the USB issues with your iPods.

I have been using my Iphone 4 with rhapsody. I use it with bluetooth. Every time I get out of the car with my phone the GMmusic pairing disconnects. When I get back in the car I have to go to settings in the phone reconnect the GMmusic link. It then works fine. However, I never have to do this on the bluetooth phone connection. It connects automatically. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yep. Bluetooth for phone connects automatically but music is not. Sort of annoying, although you only have to push a couple buttons.

Anyone test the 4.1 update yet? Does it fix our problems?

FIXED!

Plugged in, started up, manually skipped about 10 songs, waiting anywhere between 2 and 15 seconds to go to next one. Loaded up playlists, worked on normal and random. No stall outs, never got the "No supported data" screen. Went ahead and cleaned my interior with some Meguiars for about 30 minutes, and the playlist worked without stalls entire time.

So, upon first glance, fixed.

Very glad this turned out to be a fixable situation, rather than a core incompatibility issue. That would have sucked. Would have liked some better communication on the if/when, from someone, tho.

Happy camper for now, out!

(PS, this is for USB connected Iphone 3GS running iOs 4.1, controlled thru radio interface and steering wheel. Not sure about music-over-bluetooth issues.)
