If you haven't found the TSB yet, it is listed in post #21 under the first sticky in this forum. There's an attached .pdf file in the post.

OK, took the car by the dealer and made an appointment for the lifters for Tuesday. I kinda did it on the fly- no paperwork of any kind, just droppped in and told them what the problem was. They recognized the issue right away from my description, and offered to set up an appointment right away. So far, it's been cake. (Knock on wood) Hopefully the repairs themselves will go as smoothly!

We had the lifters replaced in my L99 last week. The tapping was constant and undeniable. My wife (it's her daily driver) said she thought the car was faster now. I smiled!

I'm going to have to get mine done soon, when the weather starts getting cold. This tapping has been driving me nuts for a long time and glad I found this thread. When I asked about it at the dealership a while back, "it was normal."

What is the TSB number? I see the pictures on post #21 but not the PDF mentioned.

When I start my SS up it is quiet as a church mouse. No tapping, nothing. Of course my car has never been abused IE: Floored cold, no burnouts, never overreved, changed the oil twice with under 8,000 miles. It's machinery, treat it nice and it will be nice too you. Just my opinion and not one problem in over 9400 miles.

So you are assuming everyone is abusing thier cars? You know what assuming does. Do you think there could be a reason there is a new lifter design being used as a replacement by GM? Oh holier than thou Camaro owner, please bless us with more of your car preserving ways.

Are you tryin to say that if I took better care of my car, the lifters would be fine? It's done this since day 1. Obviously, you should care for you car the best you can, but I don't feel the above post is relevant here.

My 2010 L99 lifters tap almost every time at the first start up of the day. Dealer said wait until new replacement lifter becomes available about mid 2010. The car is in the shop and of course the lifters won't tap for them. Did oil change about 3 wks ago, still taps but not for them. They believe me but have to hear the tap before going to the next step.

That's where I'm at too. When the time came for the tech to hear it, she was quiet as a mouse...

I also had them check the trans for a very slight slip between the 3rd and 4th shift. Only does it when the trans cycles through for the first time of the day. After that doesn't do it again. Dealer found no fault codes and said it drove fine (of course) for them. The driver side mirror is being replaced for blurred images.

No "RipGear"-LOL, I'm not assuming anything. I just know from what I've read here on camaro5 there's a lot of abuse of these new Camaros.- IE: Drive it like you stole it, etc.
I'm sure these lifters are a weak point on the engine. I know mine could act up anytime and then I would have GM take care of it.
