The dealer just called to tell me that they tried the car this morning (left overnight so they could get a true cold start) and again, NOTHING! Starts up just as healthy as an ox every f_cking time the tech is listening!!! Will try again when I pick the car up later today tho. They heard the video on my phone, acknowledged that the ticking is audibly present, but they have to hear it in person apparently...

My L99 lifter tapping is "very random". That's why I'm leaving it alone for now until it becomes far more consistent to avoid the "I don't hear it" situation.

Got her back today. Runs smoother, even with the AFM kicking on and off. CAI and tune goes back in tomorrow and turn that dreadful AFM OFF! We'll see how it goes, it only took 3 WEEKS!

Thats BS I would call the GM help line they have on the forum, the video is obvious proof, they should not be questioning the issue. The video is more documented than a tech acknowledging they heard it.

Cranked her up this morning and you guessed it. Lifter tap, just like before. I'm crushed. I'm off tomorrow so if it does it again I'm taking her back to them. I'll probably take it back anyway, this is BS!

That sucks. Hopefully, the dealer will still be willing to work with you on this. Something else could be causing a similar noise. Does the noise go away after warm up?

Did you have a custom tune before taking her in for the lifters??

The tapping lasted about 2 seconds. Since then it hasn't made a sound. This morning was 17 and she cranked up just fine. I cranked her up about every 2hrs at work till it was time to go home, not one tap. I put the stock tune in and the stock CAI on before taking her in. I am still smelling burnt coolant, all the fluids look good and there's no leaks.

Lifters still quiet. May have found coolant problem. PIP4735A. The fitting is loose and the hose wet. Put the car back to stock and will drop it off tomorrow. Hope it won't sit there for 3 weeks again.

Are you getting a rental car if your car is out of service for so long? I wouldn't bring it in unless they can guarantee that they will be able to get to it. I've always called ahead and asked the service advisor when the best time was to bring a car in so I could minimize downtime.
