Mine doesn't make any noises so I assume it's fine.

I am getting a ticking noise when starting it, I thought it was a very faint valve tap. Brought it in to get fixed and they said it was a cracked AC belt. Still have this tap, could it be this?

So they're replacing DOD lifters with DOD lifters that are quiet...

I think I'll stick w/ my plans to replace them with LS7 lifters and be done with it...

Happens occasionally at start up for maybe 2 seconds at most.

Not worth tearing into the engine, unless it gets worse, IMO.

Yes on recalls. But this is not a recall.

The other aspect is the warranty probably isn't really voided, if it's just from mods like tuning. The only truly voided warranties are on vehicles with scrap/salvage titles.

Some mods may trigger the dealer to have your powertrain warranty blocked. The warranty is still there and in effect, it's just every repair will require GM auth. And if they know what they are doing and following the policy to the letter, if the repair the car needs was not caused by the modification, then they should be approving the warranty repair.

Such as I doubt tuning caused an AFM lifter problem for which there is a bulletin on. I'd push for that to be covered, even with a blocked powertrain warranty.

Uggh.. My car has been sitting at the dealer for 10 days now. It is making this same exact noise on coldstart ups. The dealer thinks it seems to be the lifters, but since I have a 2011 LS, GM doesnt want to approve a lifter replacement. They have been searching for a different cause for 10 days now with no avail. 4k miles on my car.

The lifters on my car made horrible noise at 400 miles. Like they collapsed.

At 500 miles I replaced them with LS7 lifters/cam ect and it's silent now.
