have both, don't really care.

the push button deal is good for the wife's car, because she "loses" her keys in her purse all the time.. even had to put a thumb print lock on the side door of the garage so she can get into the house when she has "mis-placed" her keys in her duffle bag.. oops I mean purse.

me.. meh could care less, I carry 3 keys, car, office, house, and a slim clip for my credit cards, cash and ID.. never have a problem misplacing any of it, and for the life of me can't figure out why women feel the need to pack the whole freaking house into a purse..

I have a key hook on my desk and at home on the wall by my side of bed, if the keys aren't in my pocket they are on one of those hooks. haven't mis-placed keys in 30 years.

most work like this..

press the button without foot on brake puts car into ACC mode, foot on brake would start the car..

just sitting in the car does nothing, you have to interact with it.

pushing the button again (once it is in ACC or Running) kills it.

leaving the FOB in the car wouldn't be smart, anyone could then steal your car, no different than leaving your keys in the car.

my wife's Camry is a little smarter than some I have seen, a lady at work has an Infinity G35 and with hers she has started the car at home, her husband drives her to work, key in her purse, she goes into office with key, he drives off (car was never turned off) and gets home, then can't restart the car.

at least ours if the key is more than 20 feet from the car, kills the motor.

Key. I once had a 'push start' Chevette and that got real old real fast. Besides you can't push start an automatic.

All kidding aside, did you see the episode of 'Mad Men' where Lane had to go through at least four steps before his Jaguar could be started?

You most certainly can shut off any car with a key while it's in drive, going 70 mph on the freeway. YOu can't lock the steering wheel or remove the key until it's in park, but you most certainly can kill the engine while it's running at any speed while it's in drive.

Key cars can be shut off without being in park too. It's a safety thing. I wouldn't want a car that had to be in park to be turned off. What if the throttle hung or you lost your brakes. I guess you could try to jam it into park while moving. That wouldn't be good.

the only thing i liked more about the dodge challenger i test drove before buying my camaro was the fact you could just have the key in your pocket and walk up and press the button under the handle and it would open and that it would start same easy way...idk just a cool different thing for me never had a car with it and i liked it, but i liked the camaro alot more

What the frack is with you people losing your keys with a push button start? It's really simple, you just leave the key in your pocket. You never, ever, have to take the key out of your pocket - how could you lose it?

I'm also willing to bet that almost all of us have lost our keys regardless of it being a push button start or not...

You can push start automatic, you have to do it in reverse.

Some people have a tendancy..to lose reciepts, money, keys, and trust. Point is no one's perfect. Lost it once learn from it and prevent it twice

But I don't have the same pockets every day, so that logic doesn't work...
I like the key. What would I play with when I'm walking from the store back to the boonies of the parking lot?? Click, click, click, click....

I know I'm not the only one who does it.... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=clicking+key
