My wife and I plan on going out of Corpus Christi. We are hoping to hook up with folks on I-10 somewhere in the Houston area. A friend of ours is going to try go also in his Camaro. A Texas convoy would be great!!

15 hours 36 minutes / 996.07 miles From my house. So... ....IF....I were driving by myself..... I could probably make it in 13 to 14 hours. I'm just sayin....ya know My original plan (before the convoy) was to leave here at 7am and get there no later than 10pm at the host hotel on Thursday. That way, we would have all morning to sleep in. However, if we are going to be doing a convoy...and people would want to stop along the way... ....then I suggest leaving a bit later to get better sleep, and parking it after about 10 hours of driving.,..,,stay the night...and finish up the following day getting to the hotel at noon'ish. Check in is later. But, .... ...I mean...I'm VERY tempted to just do the entire trip in one day. Sure, I'll be tired. But, I GET TO SLEEP IN!!! |

My wife and I would love to go but to early to tell. Our first baby is due in a few weeks and not mention I've spent the last 8 mo. in Ga. working and about 6mo. last year so its good to be home!!!

Anyone else want to weigh in on this as a possible option? Maybe we could get two convoys going, those that would like to do this, and those that prefer a straight trip? Or we could merge them in Biloxi possibly?

Hello!

I think this (stopping in Biloxi) would be a good time for all...call ahead and get rooms in the same hotel and then hit up the buffet...gamble a bit and then hit the bed! Wake up around 7 or 8 and get on the road about 9 am...hit registration right when it opens and then have the night to BS with everyone! No problem driving in one day but seems like a long haul to make in a day and then with how much is going on all weekend only to turn around and drive it back in one day...man, that will be a killer! Talk about being wore out! Thoughts? |
