There are only two types of drivers. Those that have been off course and those that are going to be off course. Protect yourself with the lightest SA helmet you can afford to purchase.
Well said

I appreciate the thought, Pete, and I understand. Doing what I do (police officer), I've seen enough to know the dangers of not acting safely. I just only make so much money (again, officer) and have other financial commitments (baby), so I'm just trying to be somewhat frugal. I still want a quality helmet, but I don't believe I have to spend hundreds of dollars to get it.

I also don't plan on going all out on the track for this event. I want to push it, since I do want to have fun and see what my car is capable of, but it's also my daily driver, so I don't want to have to buy a whole new set of tires as soon as I get off the track. Plus it's my ride home.

Thanks for the links as well.

I didn't get any roof vids yet. my gopro mount is messed up. its coming open sometimes so I got to get another one I guess. ill post a couple of videos here and in the road track videos but they are just more of the same. the blue group video is my wife. you should see the confused look on a big ole burley guys face when he gets out of his C7 Z06 and sees a 104 pound girl getting out of that Camaro that was waiting on him to get out of the way. butt, butt, how, what the???????????????? LOLOLOL.
I had a student at the 10/10ths event that had a Camaro and he had several buddies that came with their Camaros. I told them about the event and ill send them the link.

call the coroner, she killed the blue group. lol

NCM course is awesome. It is fast and technical. It requires your intense attention at all times on course. There is more Armco around NCM than you may be used to. Don't just watch videos of cars running NCM, STUDY videos of cars running NCM. As with all road courses, if you memorize the track layout before you arrive, you'll be faster and safer.

I would like to add a third category. Those of us that have gone through a high G turn and deployed airbags without hitting anything.

P.S. it's also good to have a helmet in that instance too.
