They can't know every detail about every car anyway becuase there are so many different cars and people don't strictly bring in just brand new vehicles. Plus, the service advisors aren't even the ones actually working on your car! You're a Camaro enthusiast and it's YOUR car so you should know everything there is to know about it. Oh, and you know what ticks me off? You think the "dealer" should know everything, but you can't even use close to proper grammar and punctuation.

The recall she had done is probably the BCM reprogram.
+1 After talking to the guys they were very nice and said they can't know eveything about every car that comes in the shop and it was refreshing that I could explain things to them. They said they were very impressed.

The recall was the BCM reprograming.

BTW, My EX-boyfriend is the one that mistaken Camaros for Mustangs.

That's why he's your EX, right?

Seriously though, anyone that spends a little time doing some research on Camaro5 generally knows more than most people at the dealer... Everytime I go in for work I usually have to supply part numbers and TSB info if there is any... It's sad, and can be very frustrating.

Well you certainly know your Camaros! Did I mention I have one too?
If someone can't tell the difference between a Camaro and a Mustang something wrong somewhere. I could understand moving but standing still you can see one is a Ford and one is a Chevy. Go get'em tiger!!!

And knowing more than a dealer service facility doesn't really surprise me bit. I worked for an aviation parts catalog publisher. The major client was Boeing. We worked the 727 on through the 777. That is a lot of ground to cover. Certain people were experts on seats or fasteners or bulkheads or floor treatments or whatever. With that many items on a plane, you had to work each one in each position. It got monotinous. I did however only work for 18 mos. there and got laid off. Glad I work where I work now! So with cars, trucks, vans, minivans, and suvs; GM has their work cut out for them. Not making excuses for them, just sayin'.

It's actually pretty rare that people really know their cars, I'm sure it was a nice change for them.
