The fake snake idea is great, fake owls work pretty good too. We had a problem with Sea Gulls at work and the fake owl sent em packing.

I'm definitely not a bird lover because I've had the same problem, but with robins. Cover the mirrors up with something, I've used the cheap plastic shopping bags and just tied them over the mirrors while it's parked. Bit of a pain, looks stupid, but is better than scratches and bird crap all over your car.

I had a bird bring food to the roof of my car, to sit down for a meal! Found all kinds of donut crumbs or something, on my roof. As far as the mirror issue, I just park it in the garage, that usually stops em! I'd look into a car cover, if it were me.

The worst is when the poo gets in the sides of the mirrors. Its like they choose the most incovinent spot to do their business.

I think the socks over the mirrors sounds like the best idea until your garage is ready.

I agree, socks on the mirrors sounds like a good idea. Also, someone posted about using a fake owl. That would probably work too. Growing up my mom had a berry garden and she put a fake owl on the peak of the roof looking over the berry bushes, I remember it worked pretty good.

Buy a stuffed cat or two and sit them on the hood.

I had some kind if birds we have here locally continually trying to nest in my rims. They piled crap in between the spokes of the wheel that built up around the brake calipers. No matter how much I scared them off and took out the nest material they came back. It got to the point where they would wait for me to go back inside then rebuild immediately. It goes without saying my rims, calipers, and rotor where always covered in turds and debris. This went on for like 2 weeks. I had to make the move to shoot the male with a bb gun. That ended the ordeal right there. It was very painful for me to do but I couldn't let that happen either. Don't flame me too hard.

The BB gun is the permanent method. You are lucky, can't shoot cardinals here...
it is the state bird

You need to buy a Kia and park it next to your Camaro...........it'll take care of those pesky birds for you.......
