2010 Camaro 2SS/RS M6 Rough idle problem
I just bought my Camaro 2 weeks ago and I have an issue with a rough idle. You can feel the car shake and watch the RPMs fluctuate as well. Dealer said it is fine and due to lean idle conditions for emissions. Just curious if others gad same problem as me.

How many miles do you have on the car?

Best thing to do with things that are questionable and they think it's normal, ask them to start another SS right next to yours. If they both idle the same way, normal.
It's not going to have a dead smooth idle, but shouldn't be too objectional. Just the very slightest shake from a bit of a performance oriented cam. |

i can't see my rpms move but i did feel a little shake at idle. it is kind of miss leading because the car is so nice and new. almost forget what a muscle car should feel like!

I felt like my idle was really rough as well. I was expecting some shake from the cam but I thought it was a little excessive. I even started a thread about it. For the hell of it, I tried the fuse pull. Trying to get every last HP out of her and figured it couldn't hurt. Well I didn't feel any performance gains like the L99 guys do but I do feel like it smoothed out my idle. Still shakes but seems much more mellow now. Also seemed to improve the smoothness of my shifts. Could be just my head because I am getting used to the car now but it's worth a shot. Can't hurt anything to try.

These LS3 and my previous LS1 engines jump around a little at idle. I would expect the L99 to do a little better with VVT and the fact that in drive, the engine is loaded a bit and typically will smooth the idle some.

The LS3 shakes a bit at idle. Its due to the camshaft lobe profile(high lift/split duration). This has been discussed before many times. Do some searching and you will find more info.

Do the fuse pull as found on this site. They may have filled it with lower octane fuel. Worth a try anyway.
