That was me, It was a Z28 starter which is actually a Gen V LT starter that is clocked for our cars (from a C7 Grand Sport). It went on the back of my 416 which is LS9 based but for this discussion can be considered an LS3. Worked great, I am also going to follow Bo's solution and throw some additional good grounds on.

My car still hasn't had an issue and it was in the low 90s yesterday and drove it about an hour round trip.

Where did you add extra grounds at?
I just did this method today, and let me tell you that bolt was a bitch to take off. Putting it back on sucked too since my bolt broke in the hole.
