Mods to reach 600hp?
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what modifications I should put on my 2010 Camaro SS/RS L99 A6 to get the hp to around 600hp but not completely emptying the savings account.

How much $$$ do you have to achieve this goal. Unless your going spray your gonna need probably 12k to reach those numbers in RWHP. You will need a SC first of all. Some long tubes, fuel rails to push those kinds numbers plus most likely some forged internals. Your tranny might also not hold up to a 600RWHP. Your looking at major dinero even if you do the work yourself. |

I would start with LT Headers, CAI and exhaust if it is in your budget. Then save alittle more and move on to CAM, Suspension, CLutch, Gears, Hardened Half Shafts, etc.
I have been working on mine piece by piece.

Do you want it to last??? If so its going to be well more than 12k. The L99's are much more costly when it comes to making power. Most of the blowers with a slightly smaller pulley (more boost) will reach 600 rwhp fairly easy. But the L99 is a differnt story. You'd have to make at leat 13/14 psi to get to 600 rwhp and the bottom may not last long. An example. My car , L99, with 10.5 psi on a maggie and all the bolton and on meth made 545 rwhp. Thats prob as far as you want to push the stock block. It took an LS3 conversion (cam and valvetrain change) and a smaller pulley just to get two 625. Trust me, it was all much more than 12k. How long did a stock bottom last at 12.5 psi.....not very!

It would give us more of an idea if we knew what you use your car for, what your goals are, and how much $$ you want to spend.

I would say your going to spend 15k or better to get those numbers....
You could get around 500-530Rwhp for 12k..... |

Then that is going to cost even more as you need something nice on the outside to show off as well. As for the HP $ Take it from the guys who have achieved those numbers. They can give you more accurate numbers. Obviously my numbers were only a bare minimum number to get close to that kinda GO-FAST. You would probably easily be looking at $25k to really get a start on a 600HP show vehicle. If you want to see a SC show car look at Veteran1. Now that's some serious cash right there. |

I'm running the kinds of numbers you're talking about. With having a reputable shop do all the installations I've calculated on average that it costs right around $100 per horsepower. Some is cheap hp, some is expensive hp, but on average thats a good rule of thumb.
