Leather on steering wheel coming loose!
Okay I was shocked when I got in my car after work to feel & see the leather is coming loose from the inner part of the steering wheel by the controls. It is loose from the stitching at the top, down the inside & across the bottom (see pic below). It appears to have been adhered with a tiny bit of glue so it should be easy enough to glue it back but what kind of glue should I use?

Any kind of glue that works for leather will be fine, use a toothpick or a pin to apply a very small drop. Wrap it up with a piece of cloth and tie a knot in it, be sure no glue is oozing out before doing this. Leave it like this overnight.

An upholstery regulator works best for tucking the excess back in. The point is rounded , so it's not sharp. They provide these where I do upholstery work, I don't know where they sell them at though, may find one in an arts and crafts section of a store.

You may be able to tuck it under and not need any glue at all.
Some of the panels on the furniture I build have the material tucked underneath them, like the leather is under the silver plastic part. Start from the edge where its pulled out and work to the other edge. This is the best video I've found so far, searching for one for leather, concept is the same though.

Okay. I'm pretty thoroughly artsy/crafty. I think I can do it just worried about what to use. Much thanks.

Were it me, I'd use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. Put a little on both surfaces to be bonded (if you can) let it get tacky, and then press together. It comes in black and yellow. (the yellow looks like parakeet uh....excrement....works just fine, but I have a tube of black now!)

I just want to be sure it is something that won't damage the leather, will stay put & withstand the heat of the inside of the car.

Anyone else have any input on specific products used for leather in automotive interior applications?
