Tire Rack's on the place and reviews:
https://www.tirerack.com/installer/I...se&saved=false

Owner is Carl. He's an old guy with a stubborn personality and but is a tire geek. He and his employee, Tom, know what they're doing. Won't damage wheels and will have your tires/wheels Roadforced as perfect as the tire/wheel allow. No appointments. 1st come 1st serve. The building is nothing special to look at. Around $120 is what you can expect to pay for mounting and Roadforce balancing, based off sidewall size.

Enjoy the experience. I'm there multiple times a yr. Love it
Jon,

I visited Carl and Tom a few weeks ago. I couldn't get in with my regular tire guy so I ventured to Golden Mile Tire on a Monday morning. Within the first 5 minutes of talking to Carl, I knew he was exactly the guy for me. Quality work is what Golden Mile is all about. I found him to be very friendly and talkative and Tom was the same. They had no problem with me hanging out and chatting with Tom while he did the change over. Carl and I chatted about various subjects including his time in the Marine Corps (my son will be off to USMC boot camp in November).

Thank you Jon, for the recommendation of Golden Mile Tire. You definitely cannot judge a book by its cover, the building has shown its age, but inside is excellent equipment along with extremely knowledgeable manpower. It is a shame it is so far from me, but I have another great option.
-Chad

Happy to hear Chad, glad you enjoyed Carl and Tom. Good people for sure.

Best wishes to your son, tell him thank you for serving.

Congrats on the sub 2 min Pitt Race lap times as well. Gotta feel great. I enjoy watching the vids on youtube.

Back from our trip:
-2148 mi., 18.8 mpg, 46 avg mph, $340 fuel (got 20.5 mpg on the highway from PA to TN)
-Car performed flawlessly
-PS4S tires were great, even in the rain... every day but 2 of them
-90 degrees most days and I had the rain shield in throughout the trip... no issues. Temps remained within range.
-Ran the Dragon in 3rd gear for the most part. Just used the torque to pull it around
-The other driving roads were even more fun, IMO, than the Dragon. Faster sweepers or long straights... easy 70-100 mph + sections everywhere.
-Xpel PPF and the CarPro sealant made taking car of the car easy on the trip. Without PPF on the frontend and the front of the qtrs, I'm sure this thing would be chewed up tremendously.

-Blacksburg, VA for a night to visit Mountain Lake Lodge where Dirty Dancing was filmed
-Pigeon Forge, TN for 3 nights to visit Smokey Mountains and Tail of the Dragon and other various 'driving roads' (~600 mi traveled here)
-Charlotte, NC for a night to visit NASCAR shops (Penske, JR, Gibbs, Hendrick, RCR) and Detroit Speed Inc... out of hand experience to see these operations
-Charlottesville, VA for a night on a farm as a pit stop on the way home

Definitely not many other drives like a road trip through the Smokey Mtn region. Glad it all worked out, except for the weather part!

Thank you! It just rained momentarily each day there, no impact to activities. You'd go on one side of the mountain and there'd be rain. Then round a corner, dry.

Thank you. It was a great time.

Get it out, anyone with our cars seems cautious to drive it due to the stone chips front front tires. Get the the impact areas done with XPEL at least. I went 2150 mi and no damage to the car thanks too that (I have it on the front and impact areas on the rear).

Awesome pics! Smokies are awesome! I agree about the ToD, overrated IMO and I got to run it HARD with 0 traffic in off season. Still, I found some of the other stuff around way more fun. Either way though, its a bucket lister everyone should check off IMO.

This is the reason for my Z/28 owners smokies weekend trip idea, its such a good area for our cars.

ToD is good time, indeed a bucket list item (why I went there). Weekend days are a waste of time with minivans and SUVs on it. Weekdays are the best, easy to bomb around on it. If you plan a z/28 trip make it during Monday-Thursday. Surrounding areas are flooded with vacation/weekend traffic Friday-Sunday too. Too many single lane roads to navigate with heavy traffic on the weekend.

My tag for the next few weeks, this was my 2nd choice. I inquired why my 1st choice wasn't chosen and they didn't know. So they said they'd honor it... sending that out to me in the next few weeks. Good thing too... because all that my wife and I see is 'anal-log'. Haha
