What Happens When You Fuel Up?

Since these cars have the saddle-style fuel tank, does the transfer pump move fuel to the other side when you add fuel? I assume so, or you'd never be able to fully fill it up.

So then how do you add fuel additives? It seems like depending on when you add it, most of the additive would only be on one side of the tank or the other. So, you'd get half a tank of double dose and half a tank of almost no additive. This seems problematic for people that depend on octane boosters.

After having the car for 6 years, this suddenly occurred to me as I woke up at 3am.

I would put the additive in first so it mixes up real good with the fuel coming in. Shouldn't be that much of an issue as long as its mixed throughly.

What brand of additive are you putting in that it takes a whole bottle and what size is the bottle? I use STA-BIL red color in the 10 Fl oz. it treats up to 25 gallons. 1 oz. treats up to 2 1/2 gallons. I use this in my mowers and snow blowers.

Far as my vehicles I use STA-BIL 360 protection. 4oz. treat 20 gal.

I learned a little something from hauling a fuel tanker. You can't let the fuel run fast into the tank in the ground cause of vapor even though they have vents. Same thing for fueling your vehicle. The faster you squeeze the trigger on the hose filler the less fuel will fill the tank. I fill my vehicle slow and gain more gas going in to fill it.
My car goes in storage 5 to 6 months. And I never start it up this whole time. It just causes conditation.
