2011 Camaro Struts

Having an issue with my steering wheel shaking over 55 MPH and it gets worse as speed increases. I have replaced tires and basically everything in the front end. I was thinking maybe the struts up front went bad? I was looking to replace them and was wanting to know what brand everyone was using. If you have any insight what else could be causing the problem it would be appreciated. The car has headers ,CAI, E85, 1.25 lowering springs and a GPI Stage 3 cam. Thanks in advance.

Look on the inside of your wheels & see if you lost any stick on weights.

Not necessarily. They often don't look or care.

Jack a wheel and spin a tire while sliding a block of wood slowly toward it (both back and side. This will check for problems in the tire and rim. Then slide the block toward the rim while sitting on something so it can reach the rim to check the rim separately.

I replaced my front struts when it was time with the same OEM that was on it from the factory since they lasted so long.

I had to do 4 visits to different locations for wheel weights. Hard to believe that level of incompetence but that was exactly what I had recently...

Wow, that's messed up!! But yea you gotta watch out for the "incompetence" places out there.

Any suspension part that's bad will cause the wheel to shake. Sometimes only
when turning in certain directions.

My issue was the left side forward lower control am, they do have ball joints.

The issue arised once more last week, same side, was the TIE ROD END.

SO, take your pick.

Jack the front end up.
Grab each tire at 3 and 9, and wiggle it. If you have movement, it's the tie rod, or end.
If you have it at 6 and 12, it's an LCA, or loose bolts holding the strut to the knuckle.

IF you have movement at 10 and 4, 2 and 8, along with the others, it's a wheel
bearing.

Just to add to the replacement discussion, I was looking at the entry level Koni orange and one of the site sponsors was having a sale and I got Koni yellow for a few dollars more. Very happy with them.
