Plasti Dip question

I don't know much about Plasti Dip, so bare with me. I want to black out some chrome parts. Is Plasti Dip a good choice? Would this be the spray Plasti Dip I see in the stores? Do I need to prep the chrome, or just spray it on? How well does it hold up?

Thanks!

Yes, you would use the spray on dip that you find in the stores, it goes on just like spray paint. You can spray on top of chrome with no surface prep other than a thorough cleaning. I also recommend wiping the part down with alchohol. I plastidipped my rear bowtie and the chrome trim rings around my tailights. After a year, they still look like new. I also plastidipped my front splitter but it shows wear from rock chips and dirt. I will probably touch it up in the spring.

Awesome feedback, thanks guys. I'm going to do trim rings that go around the front and rear side markers. I just wanted to be sure it would work out before I order the trim rings.

I've dipped most of the parts on my car, wheels, taillight bezels, emblems and interior pieces. It all has held up well. It's easy to remove whenever you get tired of it as well.
