anybody hear about island dragway being closed for good if so .sucks

I saw that last week too. I didn't go there more than a few times a year but it was so much closer than the other NJ tracks and was always open way before Lebanon was. Oh well, maybe someone will buy it and reopen it.

I read something on a racing website it closed down over unpaid taxes. No matter the reason it closed it is a sad day for race fans.

A good friend told me that the old owner (current owners father, I believe) buried oil drums on the property when it was still his, and then, due to a feud of some sort, the father called in the feds and the epa on the kid. Sucks.

This sucks big. I have been going there all the time over the last couple years to get the speed freak out, without getting into any trouble. Now what are we north jersians supposed to do to get the rush of drag racing.
