Not trying to say the Evo wouldn't win, I just wanna know why it would.
Power to weight ratio, plus AWD

power to weight ratio....Camaro is heavvyyyyyyy. Evo is all wheel drive helps it hook up good and quick, turbo, much much better suspension that is built for going around corners. yada yada yada. Bottom line, stay away from your friend's EVO or you'l find yourself ditching the GFX idea and taking out a bigger loan to FI your V6 to keep up with the Evo.

The EVO starts at 38k, so the SS is a better matchup. SS on the straights, EVO on the curves.

On a straight line the lambo would eat it for breakfast however.

No way a V6 camaro could do that against a lambo, I doubt the V8 could.

Even on a straight line the Evo would give most V8's a run for their money.
That wasn't a stock Evo.

And its Top Gear.

No, if they weighed the same, the Evo would still win. But considering the fact that it costs more than an SS, I don't really see why a V6 Camaro should be expected to win.

I love my LLT! But why, why compare it to a Evo? Anyone that knows about cars will tell you the Evo all day! The cars are also in to completely different classes. A well driven Evo can even compete with a SS!

The evo weighs 3,300 lbs vs 3,700+ for the camaro, makes about the same power, has shorter gearing, awd, and responds way better to modifications. Don't feel too bad though, the Evo is far more expensive and designed for raw performance, not a cruiser.
This the Evo is simply a different class of car all together.

Lol the only way a V6 camaro will win within reason is if it has full bolt ons and the race is a 20 mph + rolling start.

We have to wait for some solid turbo kits to come out before we even think about evos.

The only thing Evos can do against V8's is get them off the line because its AWD, stock for stock they get destroyed after the 1/4 mile or from any rolling speed.

Yes. People need to understand that AWD's single largest advantage is the launch. After about 30 mph they wont accelerate faster than a fwd or rwd car of equal horsepower. In fact you can have probably about 5-8% less horsepower than an AWD and take it from a roll if you have fwd or rwd.

That is only true on a ~300hp car. Start talking about 600-700hp and it is a different story. The more power you make the more AWD becomes an advantage.
