well i used to be soooo angry when this happened. up until the point when i realized that most of the young ppl were the ones asking the V8 questions. most older ppl will just look at the car and admire how good it looks even thou its not a V8. Finally to me, it does has plenty of power. i used to own a 09 mits Lancer which didnt even have half of this power. I love my V6 camaro. looks great and even thou at moments i wish i had a V8, at the end of the day, all that matter is that i owe a Camaro. |

Well here we go I'm on my second v6 Camaro the first a 2010 2lt blu one then I saw a 45th and absolutely loved the way it looks so I traded the 10 on it I caught so much flack from all my buddies about the v6 so I'm like this this ones a manual which actually kinda sucks gas mileage at 20mpg the automatic was @ 25mpg but fun to drive hi buy an ss and u pay more all the way around. So ima bide my time for a few years and get me a ZL1 convertable and smoke everything all my friends have love the car the look the had mileage the price could not be more satisfied still gettin giddy.when I get in it

This is an old thread - but I'm new to Camaro ownership. I test drove both and could have afforded the SS. Maybe its just me, but I could feel the weight difference - the M6 just seemed more agile in a croud.
I was concerned about the power output, but left enough burnouts now to be sold on the M6. Of course I will mod for more power. If I can get close to a stock SS without the extra weight I'll be very happy An honestly - this is the first car I have owned that I don't see selling, pretty much ever. |

Yes the v6 has enough power, not as much as the V8, but enough. If you mod it out big time it will have more than a stock V8. When it comes to daily driving a civic has enough power.

test drove a 2012 V6 camaro yesterday, (used to own one 2010 model in 2010 i do miss it) it is quick but because the Torque doesnt throw you back in your seat the speed kind of sneaks up on you. I had it up to 105 with the sales lady in the car... she told me i can get in it

I have a heavy ass foot and I still get 20mpg, so ya it's enough power.

You can always FI the car and push 400+ to the rear easily and that is better than most V8's with exhaust, intake, tune, and especially vs the L99. Also, now that the fuel issue is sorted there's going to be alot of V6's walking on these V8's easily. N/A is going to be sick too.. I can already see some brodix heads, cams, and throw higher compression by 13+ for e85 since the fueling can now support the cams plus e85. 2012 is going to be a very SPEEDY and a awesome year for the LLT
There's going to be lot's of V8's with their pride broken Just j/k |

totally N/A LLT with heads, cams, ported IM and all the other bolts on PLUS E85......
......I want to see that badly.

I think a N/A car is so much cooler than some with FI. There's something to be said for a V6 (Camaro) N/A that's fast.

If the fuel issue is truly fixed, I'd like to try some E85 on a boosted car.

For the price of the SS, you may as well just get a 2 year old Vette. The difference in handling alone is like night and day.
For an inexpensive daily driver, the v6 Camaro is more than enough. I really can't think of any scenario where the SS would be my top choice. |
