Some of these dealers are real idiots. I just left a dealership in Jackson,Ms. He had a 2SS(sold) and would not even let me look at it. I am a 25 yr employee of GM. __________________________________________________ _________________________On order 2SS IOM Black Int 6 Sp Man Tranny

Time to let this one go.

Mods, this issue is resolved. Will you please close this thread now. I think the dealer got the message, responded correctly and does not need to be subjected to any more criticism. Thank you.

I accept their apology, I have told them so and I am very appreciative of them contacting me right away and doing the right thing!

I will get my CGM 2SS/RS with 20" polished wheels for MSRP as promised.

Thanks for the support from all of you.
Good for you OldTimer.... Glad everything worked out in your favor. In fact I went to my dealer today and told him about your issue and his reaction was similar to everyones reaction this thread. He even thought it was crazy that dealers were marking the cars up $5000 and above. He assured me that I would get MSRP without any markups and he is the sales manager. He even assigned me an additional sales rep in case he wasn't there to make sure that I pay no more than MSRP as promised.

PS. Of course I had him check the my Workbench for a status up date and it was still at 3000.....He said most of the V6 orders are at 3000 everywhere. This is some

I'm glad to hear that they did the right thing - I cancelled my order last Friday (5/1/09) at Herb Chambers in Danvers, MA because they were going to be adding $10k to the MSRP of my vehicle when it came in - it came in on Tuesday (5/5/09). Late that same Friday afternoon, I ordered a new Camaro SS through a different dealership for MSRP. My original order, a black Camaro SS with black and orange interior, sunroof, auto, 20" aluminum wheels - was ordered back on 10/23/08. I figure that I can wait just a little while longer than pay an extra $10k !!!

Oldtimer,

I get what you are saying about the death of your enthusiasm. Now you get to "bask" in the shadow of a strained relationship with the dealership the whole time you have your car. There is nothing worse than owning a car from a dishonest dealership. You'd rather DIE than have to go in there for anything! I had this experience with a local Lincoln/Mercury dealership several years back, and they went broke, and deserved to.

hang in there...

Has the car officially changed hands, OldTimer? We were really concerned by the fact that it was up on Ebay even after you talked with the big wigs.

Glad to see everything worked out like it should have in the first place. Enjoy the car, and don't let this experience bring you down even though it is a bummer. Keep your head up and cruise on!
