RK SPORT HOOD FLEXING AT 80MPH

I HAVE A 2010 SS. JUST PUT A ZL1 FRONT FACIA ON AND ADDED A APR CARBON FIBER CHIN SPOILER. ONCE I PASS 80 THE HOOD IS FLEXING AS IF IT WANT TO FLY OFF. I MADE SEVERAL HOLES IN THE HOOD TOWARDS THE REAR TO RELEASE SOME PRESURE AND STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. BOUGHT A 2014 SCOOP N INSTALLED IT AND DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. ANY ONE HAVE N E THOUGHTS WHAT TO DO OTHER THAN BUY A DIFFERENT HOOD?

Still have your old hood? Air is still getting under your hood? Any gaps or fitment issues?

I think the problem lies in the fact that the new hood is lighter than the old hood. My AMS carbon fiber hood does the exact same thing, and there are many other members on here that have the same "problem".

Try again. The factory hood actually is lighter than the aftermarket hood. The factory hood weighs in at about 25 pounds with the padding and about 22 without. RK hoods weigh in at 30-35 depending on which one it is.

Op, it has everything to do with the material, fiberglass vs aluminum. Aluminum as more rigidity and naturally doesn't flex as much as fiberglass.
