Can you add a/c on z28
Getting a good deal on z28 but has no A/c. Can it be added? And what parts do you need. ?

Lots of parts are needed but it can be done, have to remove the dash, to replace the heater box with an evaporator box, and you will need to have the BCM reprogrammed for the AC to work and last a radio face plat that has AC controls on it.

Not worth the hassle - I'd just try to find one with AC if I were you (if you absolutely must have AC).

When i looked at adding it to my no-AC car, it came down to getting all of the OEM parts to do it right. The juice is not worth the squeeze IMHO. Either live with the cool factor of no A/C, or get one with A/C.

Check the dash. Itll have a little snow flake on the cold side of the selector dial. Also, there are plenty of Z/28s with built setups which retained the A/C. Removing that system is a shoddy old school hot rod practice.

Contact your favorite Chevy dealer and they can give you the build details with the VIN.

There are vin decoders online that allow you to check options
I've used this one in the past: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...vindecoder.php |
