Yes vince tunes the firmness even on tapshift because you can feel it, albeit not as firm as sport but it is there.

But I think people are interested in the tapshift speed because if they can raise it as much as the zl1, it might be like driving a manual lol

Mine do from time to time. It's an impressive transmission/shifting. It does some wierd delayed "thinking" from time to time, but only when I'm playing with it. For example, when I'm in "M" and in 3rd and I want to just go back to "S" by holding the right paddle down, it takes a long time to figure it out, like 1-2 seconds (I'm impatient .

TapShift automatic has a neat trick up its sleeve to makes gear changes quicker: it pre-fills the next gear, via a patent-pending algorithm. That's the reason the automatic is slightly quicker--0.1 seconds--than the six-speed manual to 60 mph. It also improves response time from driver input to actual gear selection, making the driving experience that much more engaging, and closer to what you'd get with a dual-clutch transmission.

The new tap shift systems on the 12 ss too I believe so I'll drive a 12 and if it's faster just have that loaded onto my car

One more thing to ask the dealer to check. My 2012 tap/auto v6 is unusable in the manual mode.
Driving in 3, tap up, wait a long friggin time, ahh, now it upshifts
Down shifts are a little sooner, but it will still downshift one more gear at times in the middle of a freakin turn!

Also if you want to make your shifters quicker and easier to reach, it might help to have larger Paddles, it adds a lot of fun , checkout our New design on this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=221333

In my LFX the tapshift is delayed to the point that I don't use them. No joke sometimes it takes more than 3-4 seconds to shift. Doesn't seem like much but just count in your head next time you are in your car.

When I tapshift up, the readout says 'M2' then a few seconds goes by before it actually shifts. This happens in basically every gear at any RPM?

Maybe I'm doing it wrong

You cannot do something wrong that would cause the shifts to delay in tapshift, if it's taking excessively long then there may be something with the tunning, if your car is stock the dealer can update it.

have you checked your tranny fluid? does it also take delayed time to shift gears in regular and sport modes (non tap shifting)?
