Oil Pressure Gauge at Max

With any moderate to hard acceleration the oil pressure gauge on my 2LT will go up to 70, if I keep the car in Tap Shift and cruise in anything above 3,000 RPM (maybe even above 2,000 RPM) the pressure will stay above the right end of the gauge.

It the engine at operating temp's when this occurs? Has the oil and filter been serviced? If you answer yes to both............head quickly to your dealer. The gauge may be faulty, the pump may be or the system may be clogged.

Well when the engine first turns on in the morning (I'm in New York so the engine is pretty cold) the oil pressure is at max. So I guess I should be taking it in? I noticed this first after I got an oil change at the dealer...It could have been happening for a long time before that, I never kept an eye on that gauge.
