Have run the last 8 years in our state with no front plates on any of three cars... so far, not one stop. As a matter of fact, our state is considering legislation to get rid of the front plate on 'economic' grounds.. costs twice as much to manufacture, therefore wasting the taxpayers' money.
Appeal to your state legislation to pass similar laws. If you can't beat 'em, change the laws! What the *** are they really NEEDED for anyway?

Yeah I know about Good ole Houston toll system. But it was because of the dumb arse's that were driving backwards thru there to keep their plates from showin. JK. My neighbor is a State Trooper and he told me about the front plate thing in Texas getting more strict. He said that in the Ol days they just used it as an excuse to pull over suspicious cars and search them.

LOL... I'd like to see them go backwards through at 80mph where I drive. I still see a lot of Texas cars without front plates... I soon will be one of them.

I'm having a hard time coming to terms with this issue. Its like having a big red zit on your nose,
or having a big barcoded serial number over the mona lisa.

Front plates are required here in VA to. So I found someone who is willing to make a front plate mount similar to this one for the Mustang:

Name: Front Plate Holder.jpg

Size: 9.3 KB

I should have it shortly and I will take a bunch of pictures of it on and off the car. I will also give everyone information on where you can get one if you are interested.

When my daughter was driving the '94 Firebird, her front plate was on the dash, she was pulled over and she got a fix-it ticket. This was a couple years ago.

Now my son is driving a '95 Z28, yesterday when I saw his front plate on the dash, I told him that isn't going to cut it, and sure enough, after he left my house, he got pulled over on the Interstate by a trooper for not having a front plate. Jinxed him I guess.

I'm leaning towards either the auto or manual plate holder from Swift Motorsports when my car arrives.

Wire tie it up. Won't hurt your car and should be legal, as long as it's there. Works in South Dakota, anyway.

Google U-tube for retractable license plate holders.
This is waht I was thinking of doing. Here in NJ its required also.

In my state it is also required. But since my camaro will be a showcar next summer (lots of stuff being done to it!!) I will be taking the front plates off and getting the holes fixed up. I think it takes away from the look of the front of the car.

So basicily i'm saying F it and getting it removed anyways. LOL.
