Are the foam guns worth it?

I want to keep my Camaro's finish looking good for as long as possible. So far I've invested in Zaino polishes, Adam's wash, new wash pad, microfiber towels, grit guard. The next step would be a foam gun.

Is a foam gun really worth the extra expense, time & effort? It seems a little gimmicky to me, but if it keeps away the swirl marks as claimed, then it's probably worth it to get one.

Does anyone have any real-world experiences that they can share?

Also which one is better: Glimmer or AutoGeek?

Get the Foam Master II (Autogeek rebadged it).

I use it in my business and can't imagine not using it. It isn't some magical never-get-swirls-ever product. BUT, it will help soften and remove some dirt before you ever touch the car and will help reduce the chance of wash induced marring. Worth the money. And you can get it for like $38 at Amazon.

I thought "gimmicky" too, but tried it anyway. Now it's a step in every car wash. Blast off the obvious dirt with water, then coat it with suds to loosen things up. I agree with gofast, can't imagine not using it now!

$15 Ortho 3gal garden sprayer with the foaming nozle, and 4 setting adjustable tip.

Great foam, and spot spraying with the other tips.

I got 1 for soap n water only, 1 for garden use, 1 for bleach [lots of alge], and a old one I use old oil changes to spray on my rust collections.

it can be done, and its called a foam lance or snow foaming. You can purchase a foam cannon attachment for most pressure washers. Check autogeek.net foam cannon HP ($100+ just for the attachment)...

Meanwhile check out the video.

I concidered one myself, but honestly its too much money for essentially the same thing - it just looks really cool.
