If GM has forensic techs don't use them. Look in you phone book and see if there are any local to you.

To me that screams admission that there is a problem. Probably so big a "recall" would be expensive. God only knows how we can make that happen

No kidding!

Is it sad that I was willing to take the financial hit of trading my V6 for an L99 SS just to get rid of the crappy AY6?

AY6 #1: Crapped out at 13k miles.
AY6 #2: Starting to fail the same way at 41k miles.

I'm not playing the "let's replace a faulty part with another faulty part" game over and over until my powertrain warranty expired. GM should have done something about this situation long ago but they didn't. They are lucky I love the looks of the Camaro or else I would have jumped ship and bought a 5.0 Mustang instead of the SS.

Traded my 010 SS/RS manual with only 4800 miles on it on a 2012 GT
because of the crappy trans , inspite of posted claims of the fords problem
with their trans [Getrag] it is absolutely perfect at only 900 miles hot or cold fast or slow shift. A friend of mine test drove a 012 SS man and said it felt good, the salesman told him to drive it anyway he wanted he whooped it and other than a clutch smell it shifted great. He ordered one that day. I told him mine had the clutch smell for about 400 miles than it didn't do it any more.
Never owned a Ford and said I never would The Challenger wasn't on my list so what's left? How can they ignore the problems if so many people are having them? They lost me as a customer for longer then I want to admit
having owned five Camaros one from each generation and never had one warranty claim on any of them except the 010 if you can call no problem found a claim.

Damn this sucks I traded mine in as well on a 2SS Auto. The dealer called me and said that GM voided my warranty on my tranmission so not even the dealer can get GM to fix it. Now that is sad.

Well good luck with customer service they are useless .. I am telling you the only way to get it fixed is to recycle the metal.. I have been at this for more than 2 years what GM customer service? What 's a GM power train warranty but an empty promise.

I came to the conclusion a while ago before I traded in my 2010 LS for the SS that Chevrolet did not build the v6 camaro for performance driving.

They ended up replacing my clutch. They where most likely trying to see if I would pay for it even though it was covered and when I called GM they decided they couldn't scam me anymore.
