Trick - Looked like the white water was fun. Not sure how all of you ended up in the water but your guide did not. Looked like kind of a "slide job" if you know what I mean. Fun was had by all.

Rick I'm thinking I might just drive the Camaro down for the winter. Course it all depends on what kind of winter start we have up here. The first 3 states can be hell getting through. Minn. Iowa and then Kansas can be ice. <<

Meanwhile, my brother in law and my family would have to travel the farthest. Truth be told, my family would have to travel far anyway, but we would rather travel to the Outer Banks or even the resort were her dad already lives! I mean, Florida in the summer time? I'd rather stay here in AZ, as it is much less humid.

I was just wondering what Destin's claim to fame, or what that beach is known for. It appears it is known for fishing, which I do not do.
The beaches are very nice - Clean white squeaky sand and the water is clear and bright blue. I'll ask some of my friends that have recently been there what they recommend.

John - That's 7 foot falls and a safe place to do a dump truck so I was expecting it. The guides call it a perfect dump truck when they are not thrown out!

Hi All - Been a long time...........been busy and just preoccupied. I do know a bit about Destin. Sandestin is actually nicer. It's a resort and you can do most everything right there. They have a beach and a bay side and something for everyone. The beaches there in the panhandle are typically really beautiful white sand and calmer, clearer water. If you can rent a house or houses with golf carts, that's the way to go. We have been to Sandestin/Destin many times. Destin can get congested, but SanDestin is a little east of there toward Panama City. It's a little less congested. There are types of accommodations there for all types. Plenty of restaurants at Baytown Wharf and Grand Sandestin.

Skipinminn,
I've driven between Nebraska and Phoenix many, many times... Leaving Omaha in late October gets risky driving through Colorado (if you take that route), and can be troublesome in New Mexico. I usually tried heading south around the middle of the month (Oct.). Woke up one morning in Tucumcari to six inches of snow. Didn't get out of it until almost in Albuquerque. Never had any issues going through Flagstaff, but if you wait too long, that could be a problem also. Wouldn't want to drive down I-17 with snow on that road!
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info! Haven't heard much more on this reunion lately. I don't like swimming in the ocean, so other activities would interest me.

Getting hot here! Will be over 110* this weekend.

That would be cool to see.

Got up to 113* here today, and will be higher tomorrow.

Rick ...it should be interesting to see the 17 ZL1 at the show . I am told some Gm execs on both side of the border will be there.

on Saturday the show is drive up judging under a tent , which I like , and sunday is peoples choice .

I have just advertised the 1997 30th anniversary Z28 convertible for sale . lets see if anyone is interested . it's 1 0f 76 in Canada , all original . all white with white wheels , with the anniversary pkge which included orange stripes .
