I am purchasing a set of 1LE/ZL1 10 spokes soon and will be looking at tires for my 2010 SS L99. I am thinking of getting the Michelin PSS since it is a 90/10 split of DD/track(drag and auto-x). I plan on a 285/35 front, but am unsure about what size to put on the rear. Any feedback? I see some guys run the square setup, some run 295/35 in rear, and some run 315/35 in rear.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Looking at putting all-season rubber on my 1LE, and am down to the Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s and the G-Force Comp-2 A/S. Anyone tried either or both?

I have used the Michelin P/S AS on my old car an 04 GTO. They are the best UHP A/S tires on the market, great grip good wear. I have also used Yokohama Advan S4 on a E46 BMW 330I Msport, not sure if they are still available but they were also excellent. When I used to run a tire shop we found that the Michelins were always best all season use but not losing much over a summer tire, but all season doesn't mean now I can drive in snow. If your car is a daily driver & need to use it in snow I would get a separate set of wheels and winter tires.

I run the 285/295 combo and love the PSS as an all around tire.

I track some (no where near as much as I want to) but as DD they are excellent and as a track tire for a short course or cone set up they heat up an stay stable quickly.

Some report that multiple lapping on a legit track they get greasy after two or three laps. I can't comment on that as I have yet to run them like that.

I have about 16+K miles on my current set and they are starting to fall off a little but it might also be that we've had a cold snap here in FL and they are just not heating up enough in my short drives.

Saying that I want to get a square set up similarly sized to the Z/28 soon.

Have you run the 285/315 combo? Doesn't seem like many have run it.

I'm currently running G-Force Comp-2 A/S in 285 all around. I got them in late November. There are several 1LE owners here running them.

They were new last year; BFG's newest entry into the UHP A/S market. You can get them for about half the price of the Michelin pilot A/S.

They are working great for me. Ride is excellent and noise is quite low. Traction is really amazing for an A/S and the feel/feedback is pretty good. It's been a great winter time street tire for me.

To me, the Michelin is simply not worth twice the price.

Once my Proxes STII's give out, I'll be switching to the G-Force Comp-2 in 285/305 setup. But the proxes aren't wearing abnormally fast so it'll be a while.

LOVE the G-Force Comp-2 A/S... They are 1000% better in cold weather and 98% as good as the G2's above 80 degrees... I have hit 1.8g's in 72 degree weather on concrete with no squeal... My friend in town has a ZL1 with them on and loves them also...

I can't hit 1.8G even with track tires : ) Perhaps you're talking about spikes in G readings? They're usually misleading.

you are correct sir, this is a spike from turning

90 degree left turn at 45/50 MPH

I do not have any curves around me that I could legally find out what the constant G would be.. Not that I wouldn't want to

For an All season tire, the A/S 3 (W) can take a lot of abuse. An exceptional rain tire, not so good on ice but works great on cold roads around 18 F. The 285/35 rear is definitely stretched on the 11" rear rim with the little curb protector thing just barely sticking out past the rim. Also, know that you can overheated the tire on a hot summer day but the overheating doesn't seem to damage rubber compound. You will notice the difference in performance from the GY F1 SuperCar tire but the A/S tires are a lot more forgiving with road damage and pot holes.

After reading some reviews I picked up a set of G-Force A/S 2 (W) for my next commuter tire.

Anybody know the overall width of the 285 F1a mounted on the 10" wide fronts vs 11" wide rears?

Tire installation?

Where is everyone getting there tires installed, i.e. dealer or independent shop? I just had mine done at the dealer and they messed up my rims with the machine, is anyone else seeing this? The rims on my 1LE are the first i've ever paid close attention to but i've got to assume the tires can be changed without scratching the rims. Am I wrong?

I went yesterday to order some new PSS in the 285/295 combo and it looks like national back order on both sizes. I'm SOL and not sure what I should run as an option. I really liked the PSS tires and I'm at roughly 20K miles now. In contrast the damned F1 tires were at this point by 8K-10K.
