My hot start / hard start thread

3yo battery and GM starter. For the past 4 years my car has had a hard start when hot and I've done all the common "cures" for this.
New battery
New starter
Extra grounds
Cleaned terminals
Reduced hot start timing in the tune
Positive jumper bypass under the hood
Most helped it some but either didn't last long or noticed no change. Now this didn't cost me a dime and for the past 3 days it's started like a champ. I even drove it down the interstate for 1.5 hours twice and it still started right up.
Sooooooo glad this worked lol

i have done ALL of that with the same results, work for a couple days but then go to shit again. not a hard start, NO start...when my car is back i will do this too. i did have the voltage measured when cranking just before the trans went, and it was dropping pretty bad on a hard start, like something was drawing power. maybe this will help.
BUT, please report back in a couple weeks if this is STILL working, as some of those other fixes worked for a few days as well.

I saw a post on FB 1LE R group using a 1LT stater said it was 40% more cranking power but did say he was working on a LS7 so not sure if it’ll work on our LS3’s.

But it doesn't require a link to youtube to provide the info. Youtube equals clicks for $$$.

I rarely had a hard start and I’ve done the following:

New battery
New starter
wrapped all of the wires around/leading to the starter with heat reflective tape and put extra tape on metal heat shield
Cleaned all connections at the starter (my positive ring terminal from the battery was green!)
Cleaned all grounds and moved some if need be
Added two extra grounds: one from the ds head to front subframe and one from the starter mount bolt to frame
New negative battery cable from GM
CTS-V start up timing and start up flare values
Ceramic coated headers probably help as well
& Today I Cleaned the paint from where the negative battery cable mounts to the body

Hopefully cleaning that spot does the trick and it makes the rare hard starts even more rare. Thanks Bo!

Unless you have 1000 followers there is no incentive in it. Bo is just trying to share what worked for him and try to help others out that are having the problem. Easier to show than to tell.
