Want to upgrade the stereo in my 2010 to a newer OEM MyLinK System

I want to upgrade the factory system in my 2010 2SS to a newer touch screen MyLink stereo. Has anyone else done this? Install instructions? Anyone on the site have a newer unit they want to sell?

Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure there is a thread on this. I'd run a search.

Good thread to start as I want to do the same thing. I've read about some conversions but it sounds to me that it's easier to buy an aftermarket double din stereo system -vs- trying to install the MyLink system. Going with an aftermarket system will give a lot more options than the MyLink system offers too.

I was hoping to retain a completely factory look and ability to use OnStar. I found one place online that offers a brand new unit with a one year warranty and includes any necessary wiring harness'. Definitely on the pricey side though...at $1900. And, then it looks like there would be an issue with the door lock button. The new units don't have that button on the head unit anymore.

hey, Gen5diy.com has everything you will need. the only way to relocate the unlock button is to have a remote non factory one, or buy new door panels. that part sucks but i'm thinking about doing this mod in the future and adding the back up camera.

Looks perfect. I think I might go this route. Did you get the door lock switch they provide? If you did, where did you mount it?

What you can do is buy a used screen and radio off a member on here and just buy the installation package from gen5diy and it'll be cheaper. Thats what I did and ended up spending about 800 or 900 total. Mylinks pop up every once in a while for sale in the members classifieds section

Wow nice job! It looks like it was factory installed. Would you be so kind and tell me specifically what you purchased from GEN5DIY? How hard was it to put in? What year is your car?

I like the idea of the two separate touch screen panels on that one. I think it looks good. But, in my opinion, it somewhat blocks the lower gauges....which I wouldn't do.
