i think the difference in the gear ratios would make a pretty noticeable difference in acceleration. people who swap out for higher ratio gears claim it makes a pretty big difference. if the price difference is only $800, i say 1LT all the way, unless getting 1-2 more miles per gallon means a whole lot to you, while acceleration doesn't.

If your looking for gas mileage, the 2LS.

If your looking for acceleration and performance, the LT. Even if you think you might slightly want performance get the LT. Notice how many of the LLT v6 guys swap to v8s and then imagine having a car that accelerates even slower than those. The 2.92 ratio will do that. Also, a thing many on here are neglecting are the wheels. With the 3.27 gears and the 10-13 pound difference in weight per rim from the lt and the ls, the lt will accelerate faster hands down. Many don't put a lot of importance on the wheels but after having ls rims and then buying the lt ones, its a massive difference in acceleration and how the car feels. The car feels more nimble with the lt wheels.

Plus yes if you feel like you might want any of the packages, the lt would be best.

Yeah I mean I have to see what's available I just happen to find a amazing deal which was a $32,500 MRSP for $23,500 and it's a 2LT so if I can't find a 1LT with a deal like that I would rather get the 2LT and eventually swapped out the ratio haha

I was looking at an LS, but got my 1LT for almost the same price, with moonroof, 19" bright wheels, and connectvity package. No regrets.

I think Chevy really deals on the non-RS, 1LT's. They are a bargain, all things considered. I LOVE mine.

I believe you can only swap out the rear end gears in an LLT to SS gears if you have a manual transmission. It shares the same rear end as the L99 or automatic V8

The ratio might not be that easy to swap out. I don't know how the 2012 gears work but on the 2011 Automatic you can only swap in a 3.55 gear and if you want other gears you would have to swap with a v8 rear end. That would entail a lot more work and money than it would be to get the 1LT to begin with.

The LT is a better deal, plus it allows options you cant get with the LS, like the better stereo, sunroof, convienence package, all of which I got. Plus in the manual you get a 3.27 locker rear end, an Eaton G80 a damn good unit. If your budget is already stretched thin, then you have to do what you have to do.
BUT, if this is a long term car, your dream car, then get what you want and pay the extra $30-50 a month if you can afford it. The last thing you want is to get your dream car, and realize you screwed yourself by not getting what you WANTED. JMO, been there done that, and not again.
I ordered my car with NO REGRETS. Its exactly what I wanted. And now, even more so as I add exhaust and intake goodies. Get what you WANT if you can.

Does this come with the manual 1LS also? I know the 1LS has the same 3.27 ratio as the 1LT and 2LT so I was wondering if it is the same unit.

Sorry I should have been more specific: The 2LS comes with an auto and 2.92 rear. The 1LS comes with the 3.27, and I cant find anywhere said its not the locker, so I would have to assume it is. Ill keep looking.
Here is the specs online:

http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-perf...eatures-specs/

Ok I found it in my Camaro spec book I built before ordering my car. The 1LS comes with a manual and 3.27 locker. The 1LT and 2LT come with 3.27 manual or auto, BUT only the manual transmissions come with the G80 locker. So if you get a 1 or 2LT with auto, you WILL get the superior 3.27 ratio rear end BUT NOT the locker. Cmon guys the manual is really what makes the car fun to drive anyways, isnt it? The SS gets the locker regardless of transmission.
Personally, I recommend the better stereo too, for $400 bucks its worth it. The stock stereo or "infotainment" system works the phone, the Onstar syetem, shows AC settings, NAV, and much more swapping it out makes no sense you will lose all that interface capability and it wont look right in the car.

u can prolly at least get 4 of the best spankn aftermarket speakers (far better then "boston")
and pay for labor if u cant do it urself. or do it urself and buy the braket to hold ur touch screen. save a couple hundred more and you would be much more satisfied than the 'high quality 'boston's that every RS has.

save to be unique

or just be another brick in the wall
