do you know if there are certain adhesive remover that are safe and ones that are not safe against the car when removing the rear bowtie?

Also how do you go about getting the remover behind the bowtie before taking it off? I've searched for bowtie removal guides but havent had any luck.

3M adhesive remover is a well known and trusted adhesive remover, and goo gone as well. I didnt remove the rear so I cant tell you. Use one of the above brands though. Squirt it behind it, there will be a small gap between the bowtie and the car, might want to put a towel under it to catch excess remover.

It helps to use a little heat with a blow dryer too. ALWAYS read a label, and test in an inconspicuous area if need be. Goo Gone is marketed as safe for cars, etc. Most cured paints and clears will be fine.

thanks for the DIY - I'm thinking about doing a matte black surround with a gloss black emblem for a classy looking DIY blackout, and this DIY would be perfect.

here are the pics. I left it a little unglossy to keep a matte finish to match the stripes and ad some pop to it. I also did the same to my SS emblems and they were a PAIN... I ended up liking the look without them and left them off though... so all that for nothing with the emblems...
What color orange did you use for the emblem it matches perfectly with the inferno orange...

Had to show off my work......Priced these on Etsy...being sold for $270-350 a piece. Did BOTH my bowties for less than $10!!!! Took me some time to figure easiest way but once I solved that part....took under an hour.
AND this is a BIG hit on Pinterest....can't tell you how many times it's been repinned....by complete strangers!!!!!!!!
