Buying used 2018 2ss vs New 2018/19 2ss
I currently have a 2014 Camaro 1LT RS, and i'm wanting to upgrade to a SS. I'm not the biggest fan on the 2019 looks, but seeing in person may change my mind. I found a 2016 HBM 2SS with 31,000 miles on it listed for $30,500, which seems reasonable and carfax is clear. Question is, What is your opinion on buying a used sports car and saving ~10K or buying a new for $41k? Any advice or input would be appreciated. Torn and can't make up my mind.

You also have to factor in the warranty... I like buying new or slightly used only 1 year old because you will have a longer warranty. Worth the extra $$ in my book. It really depends on your budget though. Good luck!

Slightly used is the best way to buy as the original owner/buyer takes the biggest depreciation hit. As long as the car is in immaculate condition- not beat, raced, no dents or door dings, scratched paint, dinged wheels, etc. you should be just fine buying used. Just check the car out very carefully and do not make a hasty decision.

buy slightly used. See if you can score a CPO SS, 100k mile warranty is much better than 60k mile warranty.

Also, I think it's pretty rare that a car looks better in person when you already don't care for how it looks in pictures. |

I bought a used 17 with less then 4000 miles on it. It was a cpo car so i got the remaining warranty plus an additional 12 month and 12000 miles. I ened up with 40 months and 44000 miles btb. Plus I saved almost 15000 dollars off sticker price. Just do your due diligence and you can get a great deal on a used Camaro.

I'm in the same spot as you, I'm leaning towards a 1LE, I see great very low mile used ones getting posted here in the mid 30's, new are right now with no incentives are about 42k
Plus I've been reading they are getting offered 30k on trade.... I'll save the cash and live with 5k miles on the clock. I'll just stalk until I see the right one come up. Also, try zoomthelist.com |

I like new, even if financially it doesn't make the most sense. Since I've only had my SS for a couple weeks now, I spent alot of time looking at this forum regarding the break-in period. While I'm not sure whether it is completely necessary, I'm doing my best to follow the break -in guidelines. The SS I test drove on the other hand, I think I checked every box of what your're not supposed to do for the first 1500 miles.
I generally think the worst of people so I would look at a car with 31000 miles and figure 30000 of them were driven foolishly. Not to mention, new car smell, nubs on the tires, odometer less than 10, all priceless. |

Don't ever buy used if you can afford new. You have no idea what the previous owner did to and in the car. Idc what the carfax or whatever says it's just not worth it. These are 400hp cars you know people beat the hell out of them. Also don't worry about depreciation bud, just buy your car and enjoy it.
