Not really the same... no wind resistance on the dyno!

well that is up to you... how crazy are you? The car is not designed to go super fast... meaning aerodynamically. Bad things will happen. Hood will flap, rear end will lift up... This shape of car is not much use over say... 160-170. If you want to push it further, better get something more wedge shaped... maybe a corvette. 192 is the top speed on them suckers.

There are few paved areas where it could get up to its top speed. It would need a few miles to build up speed, so it would be limited to a select few airforce runways (typical commercial ones wouldn't be long enough), the largest of Nascar tracks (maybe), or automotive proving ground circular tracks. I don't think you could even do it on a regular public highway, although they are fairly straight and wide, they aren't flat or smooth enough. That is of course if you could get permission to close down a major highway, since its extremely dangerous and stupid to attempt going over 170 mph on an open road.

In any case, it would be damm near impossible for an average individual to get permission to go for a highspeed run at any of those locations.

No matter what limiter on the or what's on the speedometer, for some (racers, enthusiasts, most teens and 20ish year olds), what the car can do and achieve is as if not more important than using/doing it.
It's nearly completely psychological.
Think about it.

I'm in the same boat in a way. A 115 or 118 mph speed limit is BS, especially on a "performance" car (love Camaros!!!). Hell My 1998 Z was at 149mph (removed that, blek). 155mph for the 6 is cool, 118 mph is pathetic, Gm should have put better rated tires if this is the case.

But yeah, I believe the desire for a high(er) speed limiter is mostly in the mind. Just one man's opinion though haha.

It's governed at 155 due to tire ratings.
