This is what I did, I'll post a pic tommorrow of what it looks like. I used it to wire my footwell/back seat lighting and used a 3-way switch so that it will come on with the dome lighting or when I want it to (12V power source). I just leave it on the dome lighting and only need to open the console if I want to turn it on on-demand w/o the dome light on.

I put mine on the side of the console. I have a subwoofer knob there and the switch for my exhaust cutouts.

Has anyone used the Garage Door opener switches for anything? Or the plastic notch where the sunroof switch would go if you had one?

I installed my new zl1 fog lights and put the switch were the sunroof switch woulda gone.

With a rocker you need to cut it out with a knife or a dremel. I would recommend roughing it out with a dremel then cleaning it with a knife, and make a pattern first.

I put a momentary push button for my airhorn left of the headlight control knob... yes I did drill a half inch hole in my dash lol but it looks good there
