Won't matter the argument will turn into how a ZL1 doesn't look as muscle or can't fit anything in the trunk or it's leven lighter now lol.

I would try to compensate in other ways also if I had such skinny tires.

7 teen's are the norm. 7 oh's isn't unusual and 7 flat is pretty damned good. These are 1/8th mile et's in a 4400lb tank. 99 to 101 mph is not unheard of but of course this is on drag radials. If the 2017 ZL1 can best this it will be a new day for Chevrolet.

Now that we know the performance numbers. Bone stock between the two looks like the ZL1 may edge out the hellcat. Gonna be close

Stock vs stock, it will probably be a driver's race at the strip. At a road course the Hellcat won't have a chance. It's not set up to be a road course car and the extra 600-700 lbs are a huge detriment to the handling.

I love 'em both but I am sure the new ZL1 will run away and hide from the HC on a road course.

The hellcat won't have a chance on the road course. At the strip I'm betting the ZL1 will put the power down much better. But yeah will come down to probably a drivers race.

There's ALOT of aborted hellcat run's strip and street imo this will give the advantage to the ZL1 with better suspension. It seems like GM never devotes as much time on the strip to get those few tenths they could then everything faster is a " hero run " lol.

I suspect we'll find out by Christmas. On paper is one thing and reality is likey the truth. There are always those who are smarter and more capable than others. I think this Camaro has 6 second 1/8th mile potential but how deep into the 6's remains to be seen. We'll see if Chevy sandbagged on the numbers or if they are overhyped. Sure like to see a new Camaro get some respect for a change.

It seems to me that the power to weight ratios almost stack right on one another. If you figure a 3900-pound weight for ZL1 with 650-horse, and round the HC to 750, which is closer to what it actually produces, at 4500-pounds, they're pretty dang close. It will be interesting to see how it works out. It seems like a driver's race to me.

Around turns - there's not going to be any challenger from a, HC-car.

I don't know why we are still talking about this. Hc walks z06 with the same motor, wider tires, and less weight. What makes anyone think the camaro will beat it in a straight line? Road course is a different story and everyone already knows the Hc doesn't turn. So what is the conversation here?

Internet bench racing. And yes, obviously any race can turn into a driver's race.
