If they aren't lying, the only other option is you are a terrible driver to be continuously stopped and cited to the point your license is almost suspended and they have to put you on "patrol watch". There is absolutely nothing unethical about putting you on watch. It is done all the time based on two things, driver's who continue to drive like jerks or repeated citizen complaints. How do you know you aren't being complained on all the time, and they are tired of it? It sounds like you want to have a blast driving, and those cops are ruining it. I would never ridicule someone for occasionally wanting to "get on it", but it sounds like you just cannot resist quite often. If you are gathering this many points, it means you are getting thrashed for moving violations... not simple equipment violations. Find a track. lol, Your night was ruined because cops followed you? ...Wow

I don't get pulled over for no reason. Maybe when I was a youngin' it happened a few times, but not any more. Seems like people are complaining because they drive high profile vehicles and wonder why they attract unwanted police attention. |

You and I both know in that application "invaded" means intrusive and encroaching upon your personal information. There is no "invasion" when that information is willingly provided by you to operate a motor vehicle in this country. That is not a right... a privilege, a privilege that comes with a sacrifice of personal information. If an officer abuses that authority and takes your personal information for private uses than it is just simply criminal... your privacy was still not "invaded".

Ok in this story I see that you did nothing and the cop did nothing. It seems you were a little edgy because you romped on the accelerator and not much else.

A violation of a 4th amend would be the officer saying this is a DUI check point, get out of the car we are going to search you...all this without any odor or evidence of intoxication. Probable cause has to be established to further their investigation which is glassy eyes, slurred speech, odor of alcoholic beverage and so on.. A strong DUI case needs driving pattern, however... a cop can arrest a suspect for being asleep behind the wheel in a drive-thru, parking lot, or roadway.. so what pattern is there? MADD is a money making machine no doubt, but for the cause.. I have no issue with it. This coming from a cop that has a dog that doesn't do DUIs and before I had my "partner" there was nothing I hated more than doing DUIs, but to claim a check point is a violation of any right is silly when no right exists. Only the right to reasonable search and seizure, and that right is extinguished once probable cause or reasonable suspicion exists to continue with a DUI investigation and remove you from the vehicle. Just think about it.... If I recall correctly..What the supreme court has ruled, is failing to warn and provide another means of travel is violation of process. An officer must provide WARNING of a check point. Almost all agencies now comply with this, meaning you get one WARNING via media and electronic billboard usually half a mile before the check point. If you are dumb enough to drive down that road after that agency made an effort to contact local media (whether they decide it is news worthy or not) is on you. None of us see a dime of that money that MADD awards top performers... oh, but we do get new radar units.... oh yippie.
