So i have a quick question maybe don or dsx can answer...

I want to go e85 but right now i dont have the money to spend on the dsx full e85 kit for $1000.

I currently have
-2.55 pulley
-zl1 pump
-850 injectors that flow at 86#
-ported snout
-headers
-Tick performance cam

Car made 615/660 on 93 and want to switch to e85/flex fuel to be on the safer side for now until i can swap to the $1000 dsx kit in spring. Can i add this flex fuel sensor and retune for e85/flex fuel for the time being? What would i make? Would i run out of pump and or injector?

Dave will know way more than I will but, I believe you’ll run out injector and fuel. When I did mine, I did the aux/flex and id1050x injectors at the same time since E85 needs realistically 30% more fuel. Dave (DSX) supplied the whole kit and off I went.

Under boost and WOT is where you’ll have issues most likely...

I’d pm Dave, let him know what you have, and go by what he suggests...

The ZL1 pump really isn't sufficient for much past 600whp on ethanol. I think you're better off waiting until you can do it all correctly.

Step 1: Disconnect the battery

Step 3: Unplug the computer harness (one closest to the radiator). One is wrapped in grey electrical tape, one is wrapped in black, you want the one wrapped in black.
Step 4: Pop off the face of the harness using a small screwdriver
Step 5: Pop off the back side of the harness and cut the factory zip tie to separate the wires.
Step 6: Find pin 40, remove the factory hole cover, I just pushed it through using the small screwdriver. Then install the white wire from the DSX harness into pin 40 making sure the pin is clicked in.
Step 7: Throw on a new zip tie, Click the front and back of the harness together, reconnect the computer, and reconnect the battery.
Hey can I get better pics of the electrical part?

Im thinkin of adding this once i do my cam swap... would the stock l99 injectors be sufficient? Could i switch back and forth between 91 octane and e86?

Similar to probably everyone on here who has installed the sensor. It was super easy and the pinning was the only issue, have to say without the pics in this thread I would probably have been 100% lost on where to plug it.

Only advice to someone new doing this is to only press the shorter sides of the ecm cover. I didn't know and broke the long sides of mine. It still clicked back into place but annoying that it happened.

Took time to clean up the install with my Moroso covers but overall the kit is worth it in terms of setting up to run e85. Now to just do the rest of the fuel system modifications. Not looking to go much higher than 675hp 660trq but doing everything now so that when I get old and want 1,000hp like all the kids I can without having to worry if "this" or "that" can take it or not.
