Hey guys - I hurt my 4.10. I bought it used so I really don't know too much about it's previous use/abuse, and I definitely have made some launches on it with street and drag radials on the street and track. I believe they were original Richmond 4.10's - so I was probably on borrowed time all along. I'm gonna pull the cover in the next day or two, I'll get some pictures.

I'm contemplating my options (rebuild with Motive 4.10's and LPW cover, get one build by Jannetty $$$$, etc) but if I could stumble into another complete diff out of someone's car that would meet my needs for now. If you've got one you're looking to sell, let me know!

I bought Motive 4.10 gears and a full rebuild kit with bearings and all, and had a reputable shop do this install. I also have an LPW Ultra IRS rear diff cover coming for added strength for the case and ring gear main caps. The gear set I hurt were those original Richmond 4.10's that everybody had problems with, so I'm just chalking it up to this was gonna have to happen eventually. I still love the 4.10 ratio, I'd have a 4.56 if they made it!

Fully Loaded Performance in Germantown, NY. I think I'm going to have a re-shim done in the next couple of weeks at a more local shop in Syracuse. I don't think Fully Loaded got anything wrong, it wasn't noisy when it left there, but over 2500 miles or so it's developed quite a bit of lash and gear whine - maybe it flatted some shims out a little more, bearing wasn't fully seated, who knows. I'll let you know how I make out.
