Does the 2013 not offer the LCD in the mirror?

On my F150, they had the backup camera on the radio/navigation unit unless you did not choose to get the navigation unit, then they put the screen on the rear view mirror.

Do you not have a choice of getting the mylink screen? and if you do and choos enot to, where does the rear view camera show up at?

I posted this on the other DIY about the new mirror. What happens if I just plug the new mirror into my 2010? Do the electrical features just not work. I want the smaller size mirror, but don't care if any of the features work on the mirror. I don't want to damage or short the electrical system out though, also don't want any alarms.

I found the mirror for less than $150 w/ google.

Is it plug and play for a 2012 without LCD?

This is exactly what I did on my 2010 and nothing happened. The 2013 mirror mounts to the windshield and plugs into the wire harness just like the old one though.

Thanks

Its not that same layout for this mirror so you will need to rewire to get the mirror to work, on 2012 all the wires are there and all you do is rewire on 10 and 11 cars there is no date wire.

Working on getting to ends to make a PNP harness but you need to order a lot and dont know if its wise to do so.

Ok, Thanks. Would you have a wiring layout digram for the 2012 mirror vs the 2013 mirror? I would definetly be intereseted in a harness.

Yeah. I may have been a little exited when I sent the last post. So how difficult will it be to get the 2013 part onto my 2012 without an LCD ?
