Probably true.

Yes, exactly, ultimate poseur car, how many will you see on track at your local HPDE?

Why don't you research the Z/28's cd? And reply back discussing the engineering balances of cd with gearing and top speed?

You want to actually contribute to the discussion in a meaningful way don't you?

So much easier to reply as you did than actually consider the OP's question and examine it in reality and not just quote a number you read in a magazine.

I assume the z28 is the first and only car to ever run in the rain?

Not one other time on that list would improve with better weather?

An excellent point. But I think if that is the case, as perhaps it was with the Z/28, I believe the manufacturers can make arrangements if they choose to do it all over again, and try for a better time.

Don't know if everyone on the list does that, but it sounds like that's what may happen with the Z/28.

What point would it make, to run the Z/28 at, arguably, the most diverse and challenging track in the world, and not embrace the weather variability of the same?

If Chevrolet wants to be taken seriously on the world stage, and be in the same conversations with the Porsche 911 GT3 and Nissan GTR, they will need to be able to handle variable weather.

WET HAPPENS!

I don't understand the logic in this statement as it relates to Z/28. Clearly - Z/28 performed well in the weather. Clearly - there is more left in the time (how much we don't know outside what GM has stated).

i think he's saying that its good that they ran it in the rain and didnt get scared of it. in order to be taken seriously it needs to perform in the weather.

They did. Maybe you watched a different video? I happen to think it was a show of integrity and boldness to publicize a rain-run lap time.

They didn't have to make the run public. It was a choice to do so.

Point to Team Chevy in my world. One more example of honest facts (Chevy) vs hype marketing (Porsche).

The logic is that, there is no point in Chevrolet seeking a better time, in better conditions. They have, potentially, earned more credibility within their target peer group by posting a respectable time that was achieved under less than perfect conditions, than by shaving 5 or 6 seconds, in a perfect weather "Glory" lap.

Ok, we have the time it ran. We also have an idea of when the first units will be delivered. With that in mind, when do we think we will have pricing and allocation information? Can we use the ZL1 timeline? For those who bought their ZL1 when it was first announced, how long did it take once the "ring" times were announced to when the price and allocation information became public.
