Stock Compared to Magnaflow Catback System
Yesterday I finally received and had installed my new Magnaflow Catback Exhaust system. It is the competition series with 5 inch tips. I thought I would make a vid of the stock exhaust compared to the magnaflow and share. I am totally happy with the sound of my camaro now!

Sounds pretty good. Would like to hear some higher rpm's too. Those are some big tips!

Those are some huge tips. Sounds good. Magnaflows will open up overtime and with RPMs.

Ya those tips fill up the exhaust holes nicely. The tips are a little hot to touch with your hand after you have been driving around for awhile. I am keeping my eye on the plastic around the tips to ensure there is no effects of melting and so far so good!

There is very little drone, my only complaint is with the Active Fuel Management system, you can tell when it switches back up to 8 cyl. Thats why I have been driving in M mode the past day!

Thats my concern having a L99. The M6 guys dont have to worry about that added drone of AFM. I'm leaning towards Corsa because I'm getting old enough that I dont wanna hear that inside the cabin all the time. I keep hoping someone can come up w/ a cheaper fix tho. I wanna see a cut out of the L99 large resonator to see if a X pipe cud be added ahead of it and finished w/ any number of axle back sets. That big resonator is the key to the AFM drone, but muffler only deletes still sound a lil' rough to me w/ lots of "pops". Corsa has better flow and the drone controlled...but at a big price.
Has anyone w/ a L99 done any mod other than a strick bolt on kit or muffler delete that is not overly loud? Im looking for a deep sound but w/o the headers/tune/high flow cat etc thing. |
